The support of academic research and curatorial work on Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp is one of the Stiftung Arp e.V. central tasks.

The Stiftung Arp e.V. opened a large space in Berlin in December 2013, where Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s works are made accessible upon request to interested members of the public. Its wide-ranging collection encompasses not only Arp’s bronzes, but also a variety of his sculptures in plaster, which lend insight into his artistic process. In addition to the sculptures, the Stiftung Arp e.V. holds numerous reliefs, paintings and graphic works by Arp, as well as a range of works by Sophie Taeuber-Arp.

A comprehensive research library supplements the collection of works by Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Its numerous primary sources, such as contemporary exhibition catalogues and newspaper articles, address the work and influence of Hans Arp and Sophie Taueber-Arp. The library also has extensive holdings of secondary literature, including a wide range of publications on related movements and artists.

The Stiftung Arp e.V. holds the better part of Hans Arp’s original correspondence. Although the Fondation Arp in France is the trustee of the original documents, it is possible to consult copies at our archive in Berlin. Moreover, the Stiftung Arp e.V. has a comprehensive collection of photographs of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
