Online-Database

The Stiftung Arp e.V. opened its archive to independent researchers in 2010. Two years later, in spring 2012, Dr. Arie Hartog’s Hans Arp. Skulpturen. Eine Bestandsaufnahme (Stuttgart 2012) was published. The publication provides a comprehensive evaluation and catalogue of Hans Arp’s sculptural oeuvre. In particular, the list of all known casts to date is intended to resolve the controversy surrounding Arp’s sculpture.

In consultation with the editor of the book, Dr. Arie Hartog, the director of the Gerhard Marcks Haus in Bremen, and Kai Fischer, the preparer of catalogue, the Stiftung Arp e.V. has resolved to publish an online database of Arp’s sculpture. Our intention is to make the fundamental results of their research available to a wider public. Since the book’s publication, the Stiftung Arp e.V. has continued to supplement, update and when necessary, correct this data. The database will be published online in summer 2017.

In the future, we plan to augment the database with works by Arp in other artistic media, including his reliefs, drawings and prints. The work of Sophie Taeuber-Arp will also be catalogued. References to works by Hans Arp and Sophie Taueber-Arp in public or private collections or with unknown provenance to date are gladly accepted. Please send this information to: info(at)stiftungarp.de
